Remember that this page isn’t affiliated with BECKHOFF and MUST NOT be used as official documentation. For that, please refer to the official BECKHOFF webpage.

All content is free, and the main goal is to provide TUTORIALS. If you plan to use ANY of it in production or real applications, it MUST be thoroughly tested before implementation (use the code at your own risk).

For TF6420 TwinCAT 3 Database Server, BECKHOFF Infosys contains comprehensive documentation. I highly encourage you to read it thoroughly!

Creating Database Connections in TF6420

Now that we’ve integrated the TwinCAT 3 Database Server Configurator Tool into the XAE Solution, we can proceed to establish connections between the TF6420 library and target databases.

Connection Process Overview

The connection setup follows a straightforward point-and-click workflow:

  1. All connection parameters are configured visually
  2. No manual coding required
  3. Native integration with TwinCAT development environment

Database Connection Setup

For connecting databases to the TwinCAT Database Server, I recommend following the official documentation:

The process is thoroughly documented by Beckhoff, covering all supported database systems and connection methods, so it isn’t needed to cover these topics here.
